WORKING GROUP STOMATA
Origin and Purpose
The working group “Stomata" - Sustainable Greenkeeping, was formed 15 years ago, with the fundamental idea of making golf course maintenance more environmentally friendly and ensuring a better use of resources.
The main questions that the working group asks itself are:
How much fertiliser and water use makes sense? Are chemicals even necessary? What are the advantages of organic fertiliser? How can mechanical tasks be reduced, making valuable savings on fuel and electricity? How can soil, flora and fauna be re-established?
The working group examines existing procedures and develops new, up-to-date maintenance models. The members of the working group come from various areas of the turfgrass industry, including practical experts (Greenkeepers), consultants and Agronomists.
Our goal is to provide the best possible advise for sustainable
greenkeeping in harmony with the environment, to attain the
best possible golf course conditions.
